More information about Catalog: The Bunriha Architects' Society: 100 Years - Is Architecture Art?
Official catalog for the exhibition tracing the trajectory of the "Bunriha Architects," Japan's first architectural movement, born in the modernist era.
The Bunriha Architects are considered Japan's first architectural movement. Students from the Department of Architecture at Tokyo Imperial University questioned the conventional architectural styles through exhibitions and other means, proposing a latest approach to architecture. Many of the architects later went on to be involved in large-scale urban and residential architecture. This exhibition is held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the group's founding. It reviews their achievements from various perspectives, including drawings, models, photographs, videos, and related art works.
The catalog features entire-color illustrations that carefully introduce the exhibited works, along with texts by members of the Bunriha Architects. The cover band is reversible, a special feature.
